Welcome to BorneoScape.
For me, Borneo is more than just an island—it is a living laboratory, a sanctuary of biodiversity, and a lifelong adventure. I created this platform to share the untold stories of our island's remarkable landscapes and to advocate for a way of traveling that respects and revitalizes nature.
My journey is rooted in a deep fascination with the natural world. With an academic foundation blending biology, plant diversity, and sustainable landscape architecture, I look at environments not just as scenery, but as complex, interconnected ecosystems. As a university lecturer in Tourism Business Management and a Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) certified professional, my daily work involves bridging the gap between scientific conservation and practical, community-based ecotourism.
But I am not just an academic behind a desk. Whether I am analyzing spatial designs for new interpretation trails, researching sea turtle conservation corridors, or personally trekking and rappelling the rugged paths of Mount Rumput, I believe in learning directly from the land.
BorneoScape is where these two worlds—rigorous academic research and raw outdoor adventure—meet. Through this blog, I invite you to discover alternative tourism paths, understand the intricate balance of tropical landscapes, and join me in exploring Kalimantan with purpose and responsibility.
Let's explore the wild heart of Borneo, together.
